Sunshine and Dr. Seuss

Thursday, March 1, 2018

The sunshine this afternoon is a welcome relief after all the rain this week.  Although the skies have been dreary, we have enjoyed a week full of activities to celebrate Read Across America Week.  We'll wrap up the week by wearing green and exploring whacky foods tomorrow.

Welcome to our new Partner in Education, Andrew Kirk, Modern Woodmen Fraternal Financial. We are excited to have Mr. Kirk as a new partner.

Creekside continues to show me what a fantastic school and community it is every day. We were hit hard for a couple of weeks with lots of sick students, teachers, and staff. Every day teachers did whatever was necessary to cover classes and take care of kids. Nurse BethAnn worked tirelessly, treating every student like he/she was her own. She and Mrs. Lesley stayed busy calling parents as temperatures went up and tummy aches started. Our custodians continually cleaned and sanitized and I can't tell you how many times I heard a teacher say, "What can I do to help?"

I have created a new Creekside Elementary Instagram account and will start adding pictures I've taken throughout the year.  Some will be pictures that I've already posted on Facebook and/or Twitter. This will be another way of sharing all the AMAZING work that teachers and students do at Creekside.

We're looking forward to a STRONG finish to a phenomenal school year! State Scantron testing and end of year DIBELS testing are right around the corner in April. We need everyone at school on time and ready to learn as we prepare to show that we're the best school in the state!

If I can be of any assistance, please let me know.

Welcome to Creekside Elementary! My name is Dana Rhinehart and I am thrilled to be the new principal for grades 3-5.  I look forward to getting to know the students, parents, and other people in this community.

We're off to a great start! Teachers were so excited about moving into a new building that they spent lots of time this summer working on new learning materials and work areas for students.

Please remember that classes begin at 7:35, so everyone should work on getting to their classrooms by 7:30 to unpack and get ready for the day.

We are finishing up Scantron and DIBELS beginning of year testing and are looking forward to seeing the growth as students learn throughout the year.

Upcoming dates:
  • September 4th- Labor Day- No School
  • September 6th- Boosterthon Kick-off
  • September 11th- Professional Development Day- No School
  • September 12th- Ribbon Cutting
It's great to be a Creekside Chief!
